Assist in the day-to-day operation of Linen Distribution Department. Responds promptly and effectively to issues related to the Lab Coat Room Service. Interact with customers in this area as well entire Medical Campus for the purpose of providing linen service in a timely manner. Input billing to MPathways and maintain attendance records of employees. Attend staff meeting to share and obtain information related to departmental performance. Adhere to all relevant policies/procedures including but not limited to UM SPG policies, AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement and State/Federal laws. Unit par reviews and promote a work environment that is conducive to meeting customers and employee’s needs. Interact with other departments for collaboration. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum High School graduate, some college, 3-5 years of supervisory experience leading staff in related inventory of logistics. Successful candidate must have demonstrated skills in handling visible and high contact with customers. Must be organized and be task oriented with considerable customer service interaction. This position also requires heavy use of technology to schedule, track, billing, and reconciling. The job requires the ability to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk extensively throughout the shift. Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds and pull and/or move heavy wheeled carts. Must have extensive knowledge of computer including Microsoft Office applications. Must have the ability to adapt to a changing environment where technology is an intricate part of the operation. Daily electronic monitoring of dispensing system and trouble shooting of handheld inventory devices.
Ability to use analytical tools to review/interpret and implement departmental and institutional policies. Knowledge of Distribution logistics and customer service focus. Clear understanding of implementing work schedule with monitoring and adjustments capabilities. Ability to prepare and submit reports in area of responsibility and lead employees to successful work completion.
Work schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
