Position: Student Success Associate
Pay Rate: $10/hour
The Office of Student Success is dedicated to helping students succeed. The Office works to inspire, motivate, and support students through: success coaching, inclusive programming to support and celebrate all students, and outreach to Southeast Michigan to support college access and success efforts.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn Office of Student Success is seeking energetic, hard working students who are proactive and take initiative with their work to serve in the position of Student Success Associate. As a paraprofessional member of the Student Success team, Student Success Associates will support office initiatives, such as program offerings and the Scholar Communities. The role will provide Student Success Associates the opportunity to learn new skills and enhance existing ones, while supporting the office’s professional staff.
Student Success Associates will also provide management/oversight for the office’s desk and general operation, including shift scheduling and assisting with training and development of other paraprofessional staff.

- Assist and support office professional staff with Student Success initiatives, such as:
- Tutoring – assisting the Tutoring Coordinator with data entry and addressing basic questions from students; maintain marketing for tutoring.
Outreach – assist with call campaigns, tabling, and other outreach efforts as they arise.
Social Media – keeping the office social media accounts up-to-date with relevant event and resource information.
Website Management – updating the Office website with content and events regularly.
Oversee paraprofessional team scheduling for desk coverage and workshop/program facilitation.
Support the planning of regular team meetings/trainings, professional development, and team building efforts.
Manage the Office’s front desk, assisting all office clients, and serving as an initial contact for referral to appropriate campus resources.
Ensure office operations are running effectively, including monitoring inventory of supplies and keeping office space tidy.
Triage phone calls in a professional and friendly manner

Required qualifications: currently enrolled student at UM-Dearborn with a minimum GPA of 3.0, ability to keep information confidential, a desire to learn and a demonstrated commitment to supporting students succeed.
Desired qualifications: strong customer service, dependability, and communication; ability to work in a team, and to set priorities and remain organized.
