The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Italian Studies to begin September 2019. This is a university year appointment and will be at the level of an Assistant Professor. Successful candidates could focus on any historical period; field of specialization is open. We seek a scholar with interdisciplinary interests, exceptional promise, and a strong commitment to research, teaching and service. We especially welcome candidates whose work engages our department’s strengths in comparative thinking. Given the current configuration of our faculty in Italian Studies, we would especially welcome applicants in the following areas: Ecocriticism, Migration Studies, Mediterranean Studies, Transnational Studies, Cinema Studies, and Women’s Studies.
PhD in Italian Studies or relevant discipline
