Candidate will join an exciting and dynamic team focused on aging and cancer that uses a multi-disciplinary approach to tackle biologically important questions in the biology of aging.
Evaluate candidate anti-aging compounds identified in high-throughput screens for impacts on mammalian cells. Duties will consist of treating cultured mammalian cells with selected small molecules, and evaluating effects using immunoblot, RNA-seq, proteomics, and similar approaches.
Evaluate candidate anti-aging compounds identified in high-throughput screens for effects in mice. Duties will consist of treating mice with selected compounds, IP or PO as needed, and monitoring animals for biological effects.
Non-experimental responsibilities include: collaborate with Principal Investigator and colleagues with day-to-day operations necessary to facilitate research activities: preparation of stock solutions, and other related duties; collaborating with others as needed to complete research studies; maintain detailed records of laboratory materials and procedures and actively participate in lab meetings and journal clubs; and preparing research papers for submission for peer review when appropriate.
Ph.D. in biology or closely related area; successful record of publishing primary research papers in peer review journals; prior expertise in mammalian cell culture and mouse work.
