Responsible for performing rodent colony operations such as locomotor testing, breeding, weaning, monitoring, determining animal usage, updating online colony records, tracking cage numbers for accounting purposes and performing tissue collection. Appropriates colony animals to laboratory staff for research purposes and sets up breeding pairs for future generations of animals. Performs behavioral experiments on rats and mice. Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples. Assists in data analysis, phenotyping, genotyping, tissue collection, wet lab work, general lab duties, report writing and literature searches.
High Diploma or Associates Degree and 0-1 years of experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years experience in a laboratory setting and working with rodents.
