Provide a wide variety of moderately to complex technical lab support, individually and/or together with other research personnel.  Experimental procedures include RNA-cDNA isolation, qPCR, RT-PCR, protein isolation, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, fluorescent confocal imaging, immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation, stem cell culture, fetal mouse dissections and/or viral work.

Maintain detailed records of all experiments and data, uploading to online servers.  Coordinates data collection and screening and verifies the data.  Conducts analysis of data, interprets and implements research methodology (with supervision from the PI and senior research staff).

Responsible for maintaining the lab supplies, stocking supplies, ordering supplies and lab safety.

Responsible for maintaining, crossing and documenting mouse colony, and performing surgical procedures with the help of senior research staff.

Trains and assists other lab members on techniques and research projects.



Required Qualifications*

The applicant must have an associates degree in Biology and at least 1 year of biomedical research experience and demonstrated research in cell culture, molecular work and biochemistry analysis. Must have previous experience with mouse models and knowledge/experience in molecular work is a must, particularly for IP and ChIP-related projects. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be efficient, effective, and able to problem solve and resolve conflicts.  Excellent attention to detail and excellent ability to multitask. Experience in using Microsoft Office and Adobe suite software and adept at understanding scientific research.  Excellent attendance record and organizational skills.

Additional Information

This is a 1 year term-limited appointment position with the possibility of one year based renewals based on performance.
