Service Management – 

The HITS Service Management division is responsible for ensuring that our products, services, and support focus on delivering great service for our customers – physicians, faculty, researchers, students, and staff.  Across our groups, Service Management provides consulting, information design, user experience analysis, and custom development of software applications and websites in support of all portions of the mission.  We also manage the tools and systems of work used by HITS staff for service operations, project, and demand management, and provide consulting and support for all ITIL based processes.  We also guide the broader organization in marketing & communication, user advocacy, and measuring customer experience to help ensure that HITS continually improves in service to our customers.

Job Summary

The HITS Service Management division is seeking an IT Project Manager Senior to provide project and program management for enterprise ITSM and shared service initiatives.  This role is primarily responsible for leading agile project teams in implementing new functionalities and improving existing functionalities of enterprise Service Management solutions using ServiceNow.  As part of a larger Performance and Improvement Management team, this role will also lead ServiceNow platform roadmaps, strategies around testing and upgrades, and facilitate program management over of a collection of related projects.

Responsibilities*

Under direction, the successful candidate will provide project management and leadership needed for the management of a large and diverse division within the Michigan Medicine Health IT structure.  The Project Manager Senior will be responsible for the management, performance, and completion of assigned projects, which may be large, complex and diverse and cover scope to engage multiple teams, and potentially multiple HITS divisions and/or Michigan Medicine departments.  This includes managing demand through prioritization.  The Project Manager will help with all phases of project management from initiation, development, implementation and transition to operations. This role will develop detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports, and conduct project meetings and manage project tracking and analysis.

This role will prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence for management review.  The Project Senior Manager will assist with portfolio management including staffing plans, project lists, and the like, to use for division-wide prioritization and commitments.

Required Qualifications*

Requirements for Senior Position:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Health Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of progressive management experience or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Expertise

  • Proven experience in managing complex enterprise projects and/or operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining deliverables such as project scope and plan, status reports, cost estimates, communication plan, presentations, risk management plan, milestone/deliverable charts.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements.
  • Ability to analyze financial plans and budgets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with diverse cross-functional teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
