This position is responsible for management of the TVT (Trans Catheter Valve Therapies) Registry. This role will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify opportunities to improve the cost and quality of care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Facilitate medical and disease management, assessment of physician practice patterns and case management. Prepares reports and conducts analyses of quality of care performance, based on measures of process and outcomes of care. Work in a collaborative manner with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to develop strategies to improve performance. Under FSLA, incumbents in this position are exempt.
Employs LEAN methods to improve cost and quality of care.
Works collaboratively with TAVR faculty and clinical team to enhance clinical documentation to meet registry requirements.
Develops tools and templates to improve management of registry.
Evaluates and analyze opportunities to merge data from various sources with registry.
Assures compliance with protocols, adherence to good clinical practice guidelines, FDA regulations, IRB and all other federal, local, and University guidelines.
Oversees adverse events monitoring and recording according to standard operating procedures.
Acts as a liaison to faculty, nursing staff, study coordinators, and multiple UM departments, industry and registry partners.
Support of TAVR Lead Meetings and TAVR specific Morbidity and Mortality meeting.
Other duties as assigned or required for registry or quality improvement projects.
Functional supervision is received from the Structural Heart Program co-directors. This position will work in collaboration with the lead program manager. Administrative supervision is received from the Frankel Cardiovascular Center Quality Data Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in health related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical or research field (5-8 years minimum experience for Senior level).
Demonstrated knowledge of medical and research terminology and understanding of cardiovascular related diseases including aortic disease and its pathway.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision with diverse teams of people in a diplomatic, collaborative and effective manner.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Exceptional organizational and computer skills are required with proficiency in Microsoft software applications, UM outpatient and inpatient systems.
Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to multi-task, work well under time constraints and meet deadlines.
Demonstration of commitment to FCVC Core Values.
Registered nurse with minimum of 3 to 5 years nursing experience in cardiovascular related field.
Research experience with FDA Regulated trials desired.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
