The Pharmacology Department is seeking a skilled customer service-oriented Financial Specialist Senior to join our team and assist with managing post-award and other fund accounting activities in the department.
This position will be responsible for sponsored program post-award activities including account reconciliation and monitoring, JEs, sub-accounts, budgeting, sub-contracts, contract billings, service billings, no-cost time extensions and closeouts, bringing to light any variances. This person will work closely and proactively with PIs to develop budgets, forecasts, and reports for their entire funding portfolio, monitor burn rates, and analyze and explain variances, while keeping the department administrator apprised. This position reports to the Chief Department Administrator and will work closely with other departmental staff to coordinate the workflow of financial activities.
A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; 4-5 years of experience managing sponsored, general, auxiliary, and gift funds; demonstrated attention to detail, analytical and customer service skills; demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of customers; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks; strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; and proven ability to work effectively and efficiently, both as a member of a team and independently.
A working knowledge of the University including M-Pathways, M-Reports and Business Objects; Pre-Award experience is a plus.
