The Research Area Specialist Associate will be responsible for full time management of the ABC Baby Research Study under Dr. Julie Lumeng. This position oversees full time research data collection staff, as well as undergraduate students. Occasional driving is required and access to a university vehicle will be provided. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required, based on research study data collection needs.
75% Supervise full time data collection staff, complete research study data collection, research subject recruitment, research subject payment
This position conducts standardized research protocols with a diverse longitudinal cohort of mothers and infants (ages 2 weeks through 12 months) regarding infant eating behaviors. These protocols may occur in the early morning, late afternoon, or evening. The data collection procedures include a combination of video recorded protocols, questionnaire administration, obtaining mother and infant height and weight measurements, and obtaining informed consent from research participants. The Research Area Specialist Associate will be responsible for overseeing full time data collection staff and completing research study data collection weekly. The Research Area Specialist Associate will be responsible for subject recruitment, screening, and enrollment.
20% Manage day to day operations of ABC Baby Research Study
Complete purchasing and ordering of lab supplies as needed for the study. Reconcile Purchasing Card transactions. Additional administrative tasks as assigned.
5% Additional tasks as assigned
Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health or related field is required, Master’s degree preferred.
1-3 years of experiene in a related field.
This position requires great attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with research staff and research study participants
