We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work as a research assistant in two molecular genetics laboratories at the University of Michigan - one laboratory is located in the Life Sciences Institute (LSI) and the other is located in the Biological Sciences Building (BSB) within the Department of Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology (MCDB). The primary focus of the laboratory research includes investigating the molecular genetic and cellular mechanisms of neuronal signaling and behavior. The research will involve molecular genetic, behavioral, functional imaging, genomic, and cell biological methods.
Experimental duties include but are not limited to the following:
*Maintain and breed mouse strains and perform related experiments.
*Maintain lab resources and assist other lab members on experiments.
Non-experimental duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have taken courses related to general chemistry and/or biology or have experience in this area. Candidates should work well in a friendly, highly motivated and interactive scientific environment.
