 The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School is presently recruiting for a tenure-track faculty member. All ranks will be considered. The ideal candidate will have a well developed program in musculoskeletal research with particular interests in soft-tissue research (muscle, tendon, ligament, cartilage), a proven track record in publishing and acquiring extramural funding, and evidence of having established strong, productive collaborations with clinical faculty. Participation in resident and fellow education, clinical research and scholarly activity is expected. Experience in teaching gross anatomy labs is desirable, but not required. This is an excellent opportunity to join an active clinical department with a large research enterprise at a major medical center while living in one of the best small cities in the country.

Required Qualifications*

Candidates should possess a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree and have a strong track record of collaborating, publishing, and obtaining grant funding. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in developing strong, productive interactions with clinicians and other basic scientists, the ability to add intellectual diversity to the department, the ability to work successfully with and mentor diverse students and colleagues, and demonstrate respect for institutional compliance policies and guidelines.
