Job Title: Lab Assistants – Kochoff Foreign Language Media Lab
The Kochoff Foreign Language Media Lab includes 21 workstations (including a monitor and tutor station) and 4 workgroup stations, a LaserJet printer, overhead LCD projector and a video viewing area. Students can use the lab to study on their own and faculty members can reserve the lab for course visits. Each workstation includes a desktop computer optimized for language learning.
Student lab assistants are hired every year to monitor the lab and provide assistance to visitors. The Kochoff Media Lab is open 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Lab assistants are expected to work anywhere from 2 to 15 hours. Lab assistants are responsible for opening and closing the lab, turning on the computers, making sure the printer, timecard system, and other equipment in the lab is functioning properly or contact support services when repairs are needed.
Many lab assistants also tutor in Arabic, French, German or Spanish depending on their expertise during some of the work hours as lab assistants. Hours are set depending on students’ class schedule. Starting salary is $9.25. Salary increases are awarded at the discretion of the supervisor.

Hours: Part time. Up to 20 hours a week.
Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
