Michigan Medicine is seeking a research assistant to contribute to a research project involving human subjects. Although the position is classified as temporary, this role is considered a step within the clinical research continuum for persons interested in furthering their career in clinical medicine and research.
The research assistant will be responsible for screening patients, approaching and consenting patients for the studies, collecting medical information from the patient as well as from the electronic medical record. Other pertinent responsibilities include data entry and data management, as required.
Bachelor degree in health-related sciences; ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task and sustain a high level of organization; punctual and detail-oriented.
Prior research experience; experience with e-Research, MiChart, electronic data entry and management; knowledge of medical terminology; prior experience working with patients in a healthcare setting.
Part-time, 20-30 hours/week from approximately Dec 2018 to Dec 2019.
