Customer Service: Retrieve products for customer orders, enter transaction data into billing database, generate receipts, process special orders. Answer routine customer questions.
Orders and Invoices: Prepare product order forms, fax orders, unpack shipments, verify pricing and quantities on vendor confirmations. Identify order/shipping problems, verify packing slips. Verify invoices for correct vendor contract pricing and identify any invoicing problems. Enter orders and invoices into invoice tracking database.
Inventory Control: Participate in performing weekly physical inventory. Verify counts and identify discrepancies.
Reports: Generate and balance daily sales reports.
Store Maintenance: Defrost freezers. Keep floors and counters clean, break down and recycle boxes, rotate stock.
H.S. diploma with coursework in office procedures, basic bookkeeping or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One to two years’ retail or store experience, with some contact with the public.
Reasonable experience with data entry, databases and spreadsheets.
Some experience working in a team setting with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
Routinely maneuvers boxes weighing around 70 pounds during unpacking daily shipments.
Routinely lifts boxes weighing up to 15 pounds.
Some knowledge of University and departmental policies and procedures.
