Job Summary

  A successful ACUHO-I Intern will have completed an application at http://www.acuho-i.org/network/career/internship?portalid=0 to the ACUHO-I Housing Internship Program. 

The ACUHO-I Summer Intern at the University of Michigan – Flint will serve as an integral member of the Housing and Residential Life team. In addition to working with UM-Flint’s summer conference program, the summer intern would provide shared supervision of undergraduate staff, revise manuals, manage unique projects for the office, maintain customer service operations and facilities.

Specific responsibilities are listed below. The Summer Intern will also gain exposure to other functional assignments within the office.

Responsibilities*

General Responsibilities

       Assist in the facilitation of conference staff training and development

       Provide ongoing supervision, training for Desk Assistants 

       Assist in the creation a Conference Assistant manual

       Assist in the revision of the Desk Assistant manual

       Attend Conference Assistant team meetings

       Assist in the implementing of various summer events for perspective and incoming students and parents

       Participate in on-call rotation

       Other duties as assigned

 

    Supervision Received

Direct supervision received from the Assistant Director of Housing. Secondary supervision received from the Housing Coordinator.

The Assistant Director of Housing will meet weekly with the summer intern to discuss objectives, progress towards goals, and review internship concerns

 

   Expectations

            The Intern will have a positive attitude, initiative, creative energy and a willingness to learn.

    Compensation

            The intern will receive a private bedroom in a furnished suite that includes a kitchenette, living room, and bathroom. It will have cable, internet and utilities provided.               An hourly wage of $10.00 per hour for 28 hours per week will be paid.
