Job Summary

Provide leadership to the design and analysis of a new generation of genetic and health studies that use online instruments and social media to engage large numbers of participants. Design and implement automated processes for data analysis and visualization that help interpret and communicate the results of these studies. Propose, evaluate and consider various courses of action and problem solving strategies and make decisions in collaboration with team members. There will be many opportunities to participate in research project coordination, design and analysis and opportunities to develop independent decision making skills.

Responsibilities*

With general supervision from faculty members, help architect, design and implement applications that enable

analysis, visualization and interpretation of research data.

Draft institutional review board and other documents required for regulatory compliance, and process digital

paperwork for data sharing and other such collaborative efforts.

Consult with researchers to identify analysis needs and opportunities and then help design analysis systems and

computerized data collection and processing instruments to meet those needs.

Participate in the reporting of study results, writing technical reports, preparing articles for publication.

Organize interactions with outside researchers, study participants and collaborators.

Provide guidance and advice to students engaged in research.

Required Qualifications*

Masters degree in Biostatistics, Computer Science, or related fields.

Demonstrated experience in communicating statistical analysis to people of different backgrounds and skills, demonstrated through classroom teaching of statistical courses, analysis and reporting of challenging datasets or similar.

Experience with statistical computing and programming.

Excellent interpersonal skills. Must work well with diverse team.

Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
