Responsibilities*

To provide the delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific nursing care for adult medicine, pediatric, and OB/GYN patient populations; to perform telephone triage; assessment, screening and patient education; direct patient care. 
Accurate and expedient documentation of nursing care. 
Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources. 
Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel, collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health/care community services to promote continuity of care.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required Qualifications*

  • Current license as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan 
  • Three years RN experience
  • Bilingual English/ Japanese fluency is required
  • Two or more years of recent (within 5 years) RN experience providing care to adult patients (non-research based).

    Desired Qualifications*

    • Demonstrated expertise in Telehealth nursing and patient education. 
    • Family Medicine RN clinic experience
    • Primary care clinic RN experience in an ambulatory care setting. 
    • Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education, self-management, and coaching related to chronic conditions including but not limited to diabetes mellitus, asthma and coronary artery disease. 
    • Recent (within 5 years) nursing experience in women’s health, including perinatal care and pediatric care. 
    • BSN 
    • Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation
     

    Work Schedule

    Hours: 40 hours per week 
    Shift/ Hours/ Days:  Monday through Friday; specific hours & days to be determined upon hire but will include extended hours, clinic currently working 10 hour shifts, but may change in future.
    Location:  Family Medicine at Domino's Farms- Japanese Health Program


    All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
