Job Summary

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to assist in the coordination of the Study to Promote Innovation in Rural Integrated Telepsychiatry (SPIRIT). SPIRIT is a multi-site trial comparing the effectiveness of collaborative care vs. telepsychiatry for individuals who have screened positive for bipolar disorder or PTSD. 

Responsibilities*

Candidate will assist in the management of the project.  With guidance from faculty and project manager, the candidate will handle organizational and administrative details of assigned projects, including but not limited to scheduling of potential research subjects and  coordinating study visits and follow-up of study participants with oversight of day-to-day operation of project. Collect data and enter into appropriate systems for future analysis. Assist in preparation of IRB applications, progress reports and other summary materials. Perform literature searches. The candidate will work collaboratively and also independently with other team members to fulfill the goals of the project.  Candidate will also be responsible for assisting with the coordination of other projects and assisting with grant writing and publication preparation, along with the training of students and other staff.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or related field and/or 2-4 years relevant work experience.  
  • Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases is necessary.
  • Candidate should be organized and possess strong attention to detail. 
  • Must be capable of both working in a team and functioning independently, and motivated to learn. 
  • Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team and ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines is also a necessity.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing workflows required.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or relevant degree desired.
  • Experience in research desired. 

Work Locations

Primarily in Ann Arbor, but occasional travel for site visits at clinics in Michigan may be required.
