Responsibilities*

This position involves clerical assistance in an office setting that includes documentation and maintenance of all travels and driving a University-owned vehicle to deliver services to underserved patients.  Hours are 7:30 – 2:30 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday. 

Note:  This is a 20 hours/week position.

Required Qualifications*

  • Requires 2-5 years of experience in position.
  • Ability to effectively diffuse angry/upset customers (including volunteers)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to follow complex directions
  • Detail oriented
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience working with providers, adolescents or general public.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
  • Organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills – in person and on telephone
  • Experience with Microsoft Office – especially Access, Excel and Word
  • Ability to frequently get in/out of a mobile vehicle and large size motor home.
  • Ability to spend 5 hours in one-day driving in all types of weather
  • Must be able to routinely move items weighing up to 30 lbs., and transport items weighing 20 lbs. up/down stairs and across uneven surfaces, including ice and snow
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance and ability to drive up to 100 miles per day

  • Ability to function in an environment that can be fast-paced
  • Clean driving record
  • Familiarity with UMHS policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Michigan streets/roads
