Under the supervision of the R.N., assist in the care of the perinatal mother and newborn.
Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment that supports patient care needs.
Communicate with patients, families and staff in a welcoming, caring and professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in addition to being able to take direction.
Understands and demonstrates the core concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC), including: Respect and Dignity, Information Sharing, Participation and Collaboration.
High School Diploma
Completion of a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant program with a minimum 6 months of current experience in an unlicensed assistive role in an acute inpatient setting or 12 months current experience in a nursing home or other health care environment.
Demonstrated flexibility in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
Current experinece in the care of the inpatient perinatal mother and/or newborn.
Basic computer skills
