Project Google Guides are students in short term temporary positions who will help faculty and staff when they first transition to Google Mail and Calendar.
Google Guides are part of the overall implementation and change management strategy for UM-Flint as we roll out Google Gmail and Calendar to campus.
Google Guides are not experts in all aspects of Google Apps. They provide users support with the basic functions of the apps, and may refer users to other support options when necessary.

Must be able to present yourself and your message clearly and professionally to people of varying age and technical skill levels.
Must learn and follow a training script to be used when presenting material to others.
Ability to generate excitement for using Google.
Ability to work patiently with anyone not comfortable with technology.
Ability to provide encouragement those who may not be comfortable with the change.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions
Ability to be able to work in a team environment but also independently when needed, assume responsibility and exercise good judgment.
A background or training in marketing, sales, or public relations is preferred
Expected work schedule will be variable but an average of 10 hours per week is expected, from February through August.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
