This position will report to the Internal Medicine Finance Director. We seek a motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Financial/Business Analyst in a full-time capacity. Candidates should have excellent problem solving skills and an ability to work independently. The main functions of this position will be to assist in the development and maintain the Department's long-term financial and cash forecasts, maintain the space productivity tracking, serve on the Department's space committee and project space needs. In addition, this position will manage the Department's incentive models and will provide financial assistance to Departmental customers.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a long-range financial forecasting tool. Help develop a 5-year forecast tool that will project revenue, expense, research and space growth for the overall Department and our 13 Divisions.
Assist in the development, maintenance and improvement to Departmental/ Divisional Dashboards and Flash reports. Establish a steady cadence of information and communication with our Divisions and Departmental leaders to support their decisions and enhance the feedback on their operating performance.
Manage the Department's tripartite incentive models. Support our new incentive programs and be the main point of communication between Department Administration and our Divisional leaders.
Assist the Finance Director and Clinical Operations Director with ambulatory care and hospital financial analysis, including the annual budget process.
Provide analysis and recommendations on financial issues and develop recommendations for financial and process improvement.
Other duties as assigned throughout the year.
Maintain and update the Department's policies and procedures database.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills. Ability to develop strong working relationships with Departmental and Divisional faculty and staff. Knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel and Access. Ability to use query tools to obtain data from Health System applications. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently or on teams to meet deadlines.
Senior Level: 5-8 years of professional experience
Intermediate Level: 2-5 years of professional experience
MBA and/or CPA. Experience with University of Michigan applications. Prior budget, forecast, and strategic planning experience. Extensive experience with report writing applications.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
