We are seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician and Lab Manager to work in an interdisciplinary lab pursuing basic science in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology. The lab studies spatial organization and differentation of human pluripotent stem cells.

The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis including: cell culture, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and image analysis. Lab manager responsibilities are part of the position and include, but are not limited to: ordering supplies, maintaining cell lines, facilitating lab inspections, supervising new lab members, and generally organizing lab activity. Because the lab is small, the majority of the time will be spent doing bench research, but both sides of the job are important.
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a related science degree and matching lab research experience. 1-3 years of experience is required. The applicant should be highly motivated, detail-oriented and methodical, and able to work as part of a team. For the lab management part of the job, outstanding organizational skills are required. In addition, the ideal candidate is expected to be good at multi-tasking and have strong communication skills.
Experience working with pluripotent stem cells, fluorescence microscopy, and molecular cloning is preferred.
