We are in need of a research technician intermediate to work in the Department of Psychiatry, Neuropsychology Section as part of a study team investigating memory rehabilitation in older adults and those in the early stages of Alzheimer?s disease. The emphasis of this research position is on the administration of cognitive testing, structured memory rehabilitation, and non-invasive brain stimulation. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with fMRI acquisition and data analysis as determined appropriate by the study team. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with faculty and staff in lab management.

Oversee and train research technician associates and students along with database management and analysis. The candidate will be able to operate in a semi-independent manner to assist in clinical research and related projects. It is also expected that the successful candidate will be able to administer and score standardized neuropsychological tests to research participants, memory rehabilitation, and non-invasive brain stimulation. The candidate will also assist with the creation of posters, papers, and presentations for scientific meetings. The candidate will handle other scientific administration and clerical activities as directed to support research projects.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Psychology or Neuroscience equivalent education and experience.
- Strong clinical skills and superior verbal and written communication is expected.
- Knowledge of or experience with database creation, management and analysis procedures is expected.
- Candidates must have demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
- Proficiency in test administration and scoring.
- Experience in working with older adults.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis packages such as SAS and SPSS or other research laboratory programs.
- Experience with fMRI analysis is highly desirable.
Typically M-F 8-4:30pm but occasionally evening and weekend testing required.
- Must have reliable transportation since local travel will be expected.
- Must be willing to flex weekly hours to accommodate evening and weekend testing.
Under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
