Mission Statement

Public Allies Metro Detroit is an AmeriCorps program in partnershiop with University of Michigan-Deaborn's Office of Metropolitan Impact. We seek to find potential Allies to fill this position.

Public Allies are members from the community interested in socal change and transformation. Public Allies will work with nonprofits in the metro Detroit area to help build and expand organizational capacity. Public Allies will have a range of responsibilities including community organizaing, capacity building, community engagement, needs assessments, creating community partnerships collaborating with other organizations, assiting with community programming, and other community based projects. Public Allies will also be required to participate in weekly leadership development training. Duties will vary depending on the needs and mission of the nonprofit organization.

Public Allies are member of the AmeriCorps program, Public Allies Metro Detroit, a limited-term, grant-funded, full-time service program.

Required Qualifications*

Per AmeriCorps requirements, all potential participants must have the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Be at least 17 years of age

Additional Information

Pay: Living Stipend paid biweekly

Hours: 40 hours per week with some nights and weekends as necessary
