The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician Associate in a lab that studies neuronal circuitry and neurogenesis in Drosophila and mouse brain.
The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis including Drosophila handling, molecular cloning, cell/tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and imaging analysis. Additional responsibilities include recording and analyzing data under the guidance of a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s in biology or related science degree and matching lab research experience. Applicant should be highly motivated with thorough, methodological and accurate work habits, and must be able to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to multi-task and has strong communication skills.
Experience in Drosophila handling and Drosophila genetics is highly desired. Mouse tissue handling experience is also highly desired.
