Responsibilities*

Basic Function and Responsibility:
Under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Work with other institutions in formulating technical solutions on data integrations.

Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Programs such as MultiCenter Perioperative Outcome Groups(MPOG) application suite. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project.

Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analyst/programmers. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree.

Supervision Received: Direct supervision is received from Clinical Application Services Director

Applications Systems Analyst Programmer Intermediate

Basic Function and Responsibility:
Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.

Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases. Work with analytic team members on research topics requiring predictive analytics or machine learning.

Participate in hospital operation by working directly with clinical application services team at the hospital in providing technical support to electronic health record used at the hospital. Participates and provide support for medical device integration in a complex hospital settings. Incumbent is also expected to participate in an on-call rotation and to provide third-level of technical support to the hospital team.

Participate with research related projects involving complex queries and database work. Custom programming as necessary.

 

Required Qualifications*

  • Senior:
    • Bachelor degree in computer science + 3 years of experience
    • Health system experience is desirable
    • Strong organizational, presentation and written communication skills
    • Strong and effective communication skill
    • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, internally and externally
    • Ability to act effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
    • Flexibility to meet changing priorities.
  • Intermediate
    • Bachelor degree in computer science or its equivalent experience
      Health system experience is desirable
      Strong organizational, presentation and written communication skills
      Strong and effective communication skill
      Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, internally and externally
      Ability to act effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
      Flexibility to meet changing priorities.

 

Desired Qualifications*

Master's degree in Computer Science + 2 years of related experience is desirable (Senior level)
