Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Nephrology research program is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the director and team members of the Pediatric Nephrology Clinical and Translational Research Program.

Responsibilities*

  • Manage support activities of the research team and office environment
  • Arrange conference calls and prepare minutes for research meetings
  • Reconcile monthly PCard, process as needed for travel, and other hosting charges
  • Complex calendar management and scheduling for the director
  • Coordinate national and international travel arrangements for outgoing and incoming travelers
  • Coordinate steering committee meetings, symposia and other special events
  • Liaison with key internal and external professionals on behalf of the director.
  • Work with the director and other team members to format PowerPoint, Word, and newsletter communications
  • Work collaboratively to plan and coordinate events (e.g. meetings, conferences, retreats, conference calls) including specifics such as space reservation, communications, catering, on-site event support, equipment.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

  • A track record of reliability, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Experience providing direct administrative support to management using independent judgment and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage workload under time constraints and within established priorities
  • Minimum of 3-5 years administrative experience

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with University of Michigan systems such as Concur, Schedulon, Marketsite, PeoplePay,etc.
  • Familiarity with University of Michigan Policies and Procedures.
