The Accounting Clerk Intermediate is a key member of the Finance Team within the Department of Psychiatry. Under general supervision, this role performs clerical accounting functions requiring familiarity with, and experience in, accounting office practices.

- Reconciling accounts, identifying accounts, assigning codes, analyzing trends, verifying support, etc.
- Provide back-up support for Procurement Specialist position
- Preparation of reimbursement reports
- Running queries and preparing financial reports
- Bank deposits
- Contract invoice preparation
- Other duties as assigned
Associates’ degree in accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field or role requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness, and prioritization skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are essential. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Proficiency with MS Excel.
Familiarity with U-M financial systems (MPathways, FINPROD, Business Objects, MReports, Concur) preferred. Knowledge of U-M, Michigan Medicine and UMMS policies and procedures preferred.
