Together with the Contexts of Academic + Social Adjustment (CASA) Lab at the University of Michigan, Dr. Deborah Rivas-Drake examines how adolescents navigate issues related to race and ethnicity in peer and family settings and how these experiences inform their academic and socioemotional development. Our work seeks to illuminate promising practices that help set diverse young people on trajectories of positive contribution to their schools and communities. We are now seeking a lab manager to join a vibrant, productive team that examines school, family, and peer contexts of development – from early adolescence through young adulthood – among diverse adolescents.

50% - Assistance in coordinating lab member efforts and projects; preparation of human subjects/IRB protocols and submissions and record-keeping; preparation of study materials and participant payments; general lab maintenance, including archiving study materials, keeping records up-to-date, and ordering supplies; creation and maintenance of lab website and web-based surveys; assistance with supervision of undergraduate RAs and training of lab members in research protocols.
50% - Entering, cleaning, and coding data; assistance with analysis of data using statistical software; help with manuscript preparation, including literature searches and manuscript editing; assistance with the preparation of posters and presentations for scientific meetings.
- High school diploma, Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree in psychology or human development is highly preferred.
- At least one year prior research experience in either psychology, human development, or child/adolescent development, especially with ethnic minority youth/families and/or school-based research.
- Must have strong computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, Powerpoint), and familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS).
- Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively and possess outstanding organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
A bachelor’s degree in psychology or human development is highly preferred. Spanish fluency is highly desired.

Term Limited one year appointment, with the potential of an additional year contingent on funding.
