Responsibilities*

Data processing, cleaning, management, and analysis; preparation of manuscripts and reports as needed. This includes cleaning and assembling datasets for internal and external partners as well as requesting clarifications from the research sites in Nicaragua. Travel to sites as needed.

Select samples for laboratory testing and shipping to multiple sites. Coordinate receipt and storage of laboratory result data from multiple sites.

Review quality and accuracy of incoming study data. Participate in the development and maintenance of data cleaning algorithms.

Establish and maintain SOPs for study data cleaning, storage and reproducibility and rigor. Work with lab and/or clinical personnel to create data dictionaries.

Assist in grant submissions and work with department administrators to meet submission deadlines and requirements.

Required Qualifications*

Master's degree in public health, social science or related field with 1-3 years experience in data management; at least 1 year experience with SAS, Microsoft Access, and/or ImmPort.  Excellent skills in written and oral communications, organization and planning; strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as a team member; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.  Able and willing to travel to foreign and domestic research sites when required.

Desired Qualifications*

Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL. Knowledge and skills working with research projects, including familiarity with quantitative research methods of data collection and analysis preferred. Spanish language ability a plus.

Additional Information

THIS IS A TERM-LIMITED APPOINTMENT THAT WILL END ONE YEAR FROM APPOINTMENT START DATE, WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR AN EXTENSION DEPENDING UPON AVAILABLE RESEARCH FUNDING.
