Mission Statement

Inpatient unit Administrative Assistant to perform routine administrative activities with limited authority to make commitments on behalf of unit. Prepares and submits biweekly and monthly payroll generated from One Staff data. Has payroll reviewed and signed by Nurse Manager of unit, in time to meet payroll deadline. Reviews GPRs and seeks adjustments when necessary. Follows up with staff involved, collects productivity, payroll, and attendance data. Approves changes in staffing/scheduling of staff. Prepares and submits travel, hosting, tuition support requests. Completes projects and other duties as assigned by manager.



Required Qualifications*

Under general direction, provides general administrative support to a department or group of professionals. Exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment and is capable of analyzing complex information requests and determining complex trends. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and more than four years of experience. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt. Computer skills including MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel spreadsheets, and web skills, payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, or financial experience are necessary.

Desired Qualifications*

Prefer an Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Computer skills with MS Access, Adobe Acrobat.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
