Job Summary

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) provides students an opportunity to work as research assistants on faculty-generated projects. UROP awards students stipends of up to $250 are available during the Spring, 2019 term. Students are paid bi-weekly at an hourly rate negotiated between them and the faculty project sponsor. If available, work-study funding and/or faculty supplemental funding (grants, department funding, etc) may also be used to fund UROP projects. Salaries range between $10.00-$15.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications*

UROP positions are ONLY open to UM-Flint students with undergraduate status.

Additionally, qualified applicants are REQUIRED to do the following:

  1. Obtain certification in the "Research Practice Foundations" module of PEERRS: (NOTE: Additional modules may be required, depending on the project).
  2. Fully complete and submit a UROP Contract as you are placed on one of the pre-approved projects.
  3. Attend an introductory orientation as a part of the interview process.
  4. WORK-STUDY students must have been awarded work-study funding for the 2018-2019 academic year.

UROP positions will only be offered to candidates who meet these requirements.

Background Screening
