Job Summary

The Center for Engineering Diversity & Outreach (CEDO) is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and highly organized team oriented professional to serve in a key administrative support role with emphasis on administrative support, customer service, and event support.  This position reports to the CEDO Managing Director.  The position is ideal for an individual seeking to provide a wide range of administrative support to advance CEDO’s mission to facilitate outreach, recruitment, retention, and overall success of all members of the CoE community, especially those from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in Engineering.

Responsibilities*

  • Manage calendar, strategic projects, proposals, presentations, and communications for the CEDO Managing Director
  • Represent CEDO by greeting and directing visitors, answering phone calls, providing event support, ordering supplies, etc., while maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Manage, train, and supervise work-study students and temporary staff (when available) on administrative functions, front desk duties, and event support
  • Oversee office website activity, maintain assigned website content, and maintain knowledge of selected website platform, software and functionality
  • Manage daily written and email correspondence for CEDO
  • Build and maintain a master calendar of CEDO events and activities

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; 2+ years of experience providing administrative support; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; excellent attention to detail and desire to learn; demonstrated ability to take initiative, set priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously; exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment; capable of analyzing complex information requests; ability to manage budgets,  familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Apps; ability to work with confidential material and situations in a discreet and professional manner at all times; some flexible scheduling for occasional early morning, weekend and evening work.

Desired Qualifications*

Experience with M-Pathways and procurement services (M-Marketsite, Concur); experience with budgeting (forecasting, tracking, and reconciling); experience with CRM platform
