We are looking for a personable, self-motivated and detail-oriented team player to help with recruitment activities for a federally-funded research study focused on substance use and aggression. This study is conducted out of the Hurley Medical Center Emergency Department in Flint, Michigan. Key job responsibilities include recruiting participants from the Emergency Department and Urgent Care area, collecting data from study participants, maintaining study records, and helping to develop internal study documentation. Regular communication with study coordinator.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: This person will identify and approach potential participants entering the Hurley Medical Center ER for a federally funded research study. Consent participants and conduct survey assessments. In addition, this person will locate participants by phone contacts, letters and home visits to participants or other primary contacts as needed. Utilize a tablet computer to administer survey, determine randomization, and conduct assessments in the ED/Urgent Care and in the community. Document accurately flow of shifts, adhere to all recruitment procedures and communicate daily/weekly updates to study coordinator. Other duties include: perform and document risk assessments, CPS reports, document shift events and tracking data; follow all recruitment and assessment procedures; complete daily paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Provide nightly/weekly shift summaries to the study coordinator and/or lead recruiter/health-coach. Enter and clean data in ACCESS database.
HS Diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or related health field. Previous research experience, clinic/hospital work or volunteer experience, and knowledge of the research process is.
Varying schedule of 8 hour shifts occurring on afternoons, evenings, and weekends
