This individual will be responsible for providing research support to Dr. Kao-Ping Chua and Dr. Lisa Prosser in the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center, Department of Pediatrics. Projects will focus on a broad variety of topics, including vaccinations, opioid prescribing and policy, and pharmaceutical policy. The Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting literature reviews, researching state and federal policies, conducting medical chart reviews and assisting with the logistics of an ongoing clinical trial, preparing tables and figures, assisting with presentations and manuscripts, and basic programming and statistical analyses. This position will be paid hourly, and the individual will work 40 hours per week except on days when the CHEAR Center is closed (e.g., holidays).
Conduct literature reviews
Research state and federal policies on a broad range of topics
Conduct medical chart reviews and assist with logistics of an ongoing clinical trial
Assist with writing and editing of manuscripts and reports
Assist in preparing presentations
Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigators
Bachelor degree in the sciences or social sciences or equivalent work experience
Prior research or internship experience in health, health care, health policy, or health law
Basic knowledge of statistics and database management
Proficiency in conducting literature reviews in PubMed and other similar databases
Proficiency in the use of EndNote, MS Office: MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent attendance, ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, manage deadlines without undue stress and exercise good judgment
