Job Summary

Postdoctoral research fellowship: Understanding telomerase function in cancer cells.

A postdoctoral position is available beginning Fall 2019 in the lab of Jayakrishnan (JK) Nandakumar at the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Our lab studies the structure and function of telomeres and telomerase, which are protein-nucleic acid complexes that help maintain the ends of chromosomes. The current project involves the use of biochemical assays, genome-wide knockout screens, and other cell biological methods to understand how human telomerase functions in cultured human cells. The long-term goal of the project is to garner knowledge that would facilitate the design of the next generation of anti-telomerase based drugs for the cure/management of cancer.
