Job Summary

The School of Social Work Program Evaluation Group seeks a highly motivated, experienced and professional Program Evaluator and Data Analyst. The successful candidate will work closely with Principal Investigators, Program Evaluation Group leadership and serve as the lead evaluator on an assigned caseload of community-based program evaluation projects. The person in this role will also provide consultation on quantitative and qualitative analysis on other evaluation projects in the unit.


Responsibilities duties include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing dashboards and metrics
  • Designing databases and data management systems
  • Engaging in reliable and valid data collection activities, including developing data collection tools and protocols
  • Performing statistical analysis
  • Performing qualitative analysis
  • Creating maps using ArcGIS and other mapping applications
  • Training students in all aspects of the program evaluation process and associated skills
  • Providing supervision to students, giving performance feedback and reviews
  • Conducting client outreach and engagement meetings in the field
  • Assisting the Program Manager in developing quality grant proposals and scopes of work
  • Conducting new project discovery and fact finding activities
  • Developing program logic models, drafting evaluation plans
  • Drafting & preparing evaluation result reports and monthly evaluation activity reports to the client
  • Managing tasks, deliverables, and budgets for assigned evaluation projects
  • Attending and presenting at state and national evaluation conferences
  • Monitoring compliance with human subjects protections
  • Communicating regularly with clients and Principal Investigator
  • Preparing and managing all project correspondence
  • Monitoring project deadlines and tracking progress toward deadlines

The Program Evaluator will also collaborate with unit leadership to design and conduct data analysis and program evaluation trainings for staff, the larger School of Social Work, and the University community.

Required Qualifications*

Master’s degree required.  At least three years of progressively responsible experience in engaging the community in program evaluation, conducting multi-method program evaluations, project coordination of complex projects involving multiple participants, and/or non-profit service.

Desired Qualifications*

Master’s degree required. MSW preferred with license in Social Work or Master’s in a related field such as public health or education.  Proficient in Excel, statistical applications such as SPSS or SAS and/or qualitative analysis software such as NVivo or Atlas ti.  Experience with ArcGIS preferred.   Experience with training others in development of program evaluation skills.  Able to work professionally, independently, and collaboratively with faculty, community clients, students, and staff.
