Job Summary

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will be part of the Department of Pharmacy Oncology team, as well as multidisciplinary teams within Michigan Medicine division of Hematology and Oncology. Michigan Medicine is ranked nationally for the care provided to both adult and pediatric cancer patients, as well as many other specialties. The cancer center mission is the conquest of cancer through innovation and collaboration. Our oncology clinical pharmacists in this setting are well versed in a number of oncology disease states (benign and malignant hematology, solid tumors, acute leukemias, bone marrow transplant, pediatrics, cellular therapies, and more) and provide exceptional pharmaceutical care on the individual and population level. If you are passionate about patient care, instructing, mentoring, quality improvement, and clinical research there is no better place.

This pharmacist will provide care to inpatients with a hematology consult, as an integral member of the hematology consult service. This team member will have the opportunity to establish a blood factor stewardship program.

Responsibilities*

  • You will contribute to performance on quality and financial measures
  • You will assure safe and evidence-based, cost effective use of medications, as well as contribute to formulary review and maintenance.
  • You will assist in the development of staff educational and training programs within the Pharmacy Department
  • As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will also be appointed as an adjunct faculty member in the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy where you will participate in the didactic and experimental training of pharmacy students and residents
  • You will work individually or collaboratively on scholarly/research activity

Required Qualifications*

·  A Doctor of Pharmacy degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·  Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Michigan (including a Controlled Substance license), verifiable in LARA; or eligibility to become licensed within 90 days of employment start date.

·  A certificate of completion from an oncology residency, fellowship, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is necessary.

·  Experience in clinical pharmacy practice is necessary

 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy is desired, but not required

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday day shift

Underfill Statement

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. (eligibility for Licensure as a Pharmacist by the State of Michigan is necessary.)

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
