Assist principal investigator in the execution of research projects(s) investigating the biological and biochemical aspects of the regulation of human skin structure and function with emphasis on understanding skin health.
Assist in experimental procedures. Knowledge of tissue culture; real-time RT-PCR; DNA and RNA isolation; agarose gel electrophoresis; immunohistochemistry; bright-field and fluorescence photomicroscopy; and other molecular biology techniques is preferred. Candidate should have an interest in high throughput screening technology. Additionally, the candidate should be willing to work with genetically modified mouse models.
The ideal candidate will possess attention to detail, excellent writing and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well in a team, and a positive attitude. The candidate will be required to perform literature searches, and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports detailing the status of ongoing work, using spreadsheet, word processing, and graphics computer programs.
Additional responsibilities include compiling and organizing data in the areas mentioned above, making presentations at laboratory meetings, assist in day-to-day operations of the laboratory, and maintain laboratory compliance with University and Federal regulations.

- BS Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and/or related science discipline.
- Competency in writing and verbal communication
- Basic computer skills and ability to use, graphics, spreadsheet, database, word processing, and statistical analysis software
Research Lab Tech Intermediate:
- Previous work experience of 1-3 years in a research laboratory
Research Lab Tech Associate:
- Previous work experience of 0-1 years in a research laboratory
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as DNA and RNA isolation, real-time RT-PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, immunohistology, digital imaging, and Western analysis
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
