Job Summary

The post-doc will plan, perform, and analyze experiments related to dormancy of cancer stem-like cells in breast cancer, using 2D, 3D, and mouse models. The focus of the position is on in vivo imaging studies.

Responsibilities*

The researcher will plan and perform experiments using mouse models of breast cancer; perform in vivo imaging studies (including multi-photon microscopy, bioluminescence, and MRI) to analyze disease progression and response to therapy; perform treatment studies; participate in preparation of manuscripts; and participate in instruction of graduate students and undergraduates. He/she will maintain necessary lab reagents and infrastructure needed for these tasks.

Required Qualifications*

PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with cell culture, mouse procedures and models of cancer with cell lines and/or primary cell cultures; molecular biology techniques, gene knockdown/knockout/add back, and histology/immunostaining. Must be an interactive team player with willingness to learn and troubleshoot new techniques in areas including imaging and immunofluorescence staining. Past experience with scientific writing for abstracts, manuscripts, and/or grants. Past experience working with graduate students and/or undergraduates.

Desired Qualifications*

Past experience and/or willingness to learn quantitative imaging and computational analysis methods, including working with MatLab. Past experience or willingness to learn next generation sequencing and data analysis methods.
