• Maintain and operate the perception and control software for a self driving vehicle platform 

• Support students and research staff during their development and testing of sensing and control algorithms in simulation and on the vehicle platforms

• Develop scripting for test automation and post-processing of results

• Lead the development of a simulation environment to enable the simulation of autonomy features

Required Qualifications*

• Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering.

• Experience with vehicle modeling using tools such as CarSim, CarMaker, or GTsuite 

• Experience using MathWorks Simulink frameworks

• Experience in Vehicle CAN network (CANayzer/CANape)

• Experience with interprocess communication methods (such as ROS, LCM, ZeroMQ, etc.)

• Proficiency in multiple operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, Linux, etc.


Desired Qualifications*

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ and Python

• Experience with Linux development operations using tools such as: gcc, ld, ar, make, bash, gdb, and valgrind 

• Experience developing custom software within a large codebase, including proficiency with software version control systems (e.g., git or svn), code reviews, and style guidelines

• Experience with system requirements, test driven development, software validation, and Agile software development practices 

• Demonstrated ability to generate scientific reports and presentations 

• Experience with remote sensing systems such as radar, camera, LIDAR or ultrasonic.

• Experience developing software in-game engine environments

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle simulation software such as ANSYS

• Experience with industry standard test cell software (e.g., AVL Puma, Horiba Stars) 

• Hands-on experience developing vehicle or system level HIL environment.

Additional Information

This is a two year position.  Any extension would be based on available funding and performance.
