Job Summary

Responsible for work that is complex and varied in nature related to systems process analysis, design, and simulation. Requires highest level understanding of organization's business systems and industry requirements. Focus is on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted Business Systems teams. Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts. May provide guidance/training to more junior staff. May lead re-engineering team and act as project manager in some cases. Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within a broad technical and business context of significant impact. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree.

Responsibilities*

  • The primary objective of this role is to enable the strategic initiatives of the fiscal year, as well as manage change in the complex, dynamic environment of the health system. This pivotal liaison role reports directly to the COO and is responsible for the administrative, financial and operational activities related to the strategic initiatives of the Executive Triad, ensuring effective use of time and resources as well as the management of strategic initiatives, programs and projects. This individual will work collaboratively with leaders from C.S. Mott Children’s and Women’s Hospital to build and maintain positive relationships and to ensure strategic initiatives and operations are connected and integrated.
  • This role will focus on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted Business Systems teams.
  • May lead re-engineering team and act as project manager in some cases.
  • Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within a broad technical land business context of significant impact. 
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop project managers in conjunction with the Administrative Director to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to project specifications.
  • Management duties for direct reports include interviewing, selecting, training and evaluating employees; planning and directing their work; assessing their productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in their status. 

 

Required Qualifications*

  • Master’s degree in Health Services Administration, Nursing, Business Administration or an equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive health care experience and proven project management and continuous improvement strategy skills

Background Screening
