Job Summary

Student Research Assistant needed for the Multilingual Indexing and Search Interface (MISI) project, a digital humanities project began in collaboration between the Mardigian Library and the Michigan Iranian-American Oral History Project. The Student Research Assistant will report to MISI project team members and attend regular project team meetings.  

The ideal candidate can demonstrate proficiency in React, Git, and front-end development and its component languages (HTML, Javascript, and CSS). They should also demonstrate excellent communication, task management, and debugging skills. While not required, comfort with PHP and MySQL would be beneficial to the candidate, though any necessary training could be provided.

The person in this role may also be asked to work with the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer project where that work overlaps with the Multilingual Indexing and Search Interface.  

Flexible hours averaging 5-10 hours per week.  The term of employment may be extended contingent on project funding.
