The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Dr. Jian Kang (http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jiankang/). You will have the opportunity to participate in collaborative research projects in the School of Public Health and Michigan Medicine. 

Preference will be given to those who have experience in metabolomics data and/or imaging data analysis. 
 

Responsibilities*

You will work on developing statistical methods and theory for large-scale complex biomedical data with a focus on metabolomics and imaging data. The specific areas include, but are not limited to, Bayesian methods, Gaussian processes, deep neural networks, scalable computation algorithms, ultrahigh-dimensional feature selection, latent source separation methods, graphical models, network inference, composite likelihood approach and missing data problems. 

Required Qualifications*

  • Ph.D. (or expected to have the Ph.D. in summer 2021) in Biostatistics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related area
  • Strong programming skills for statistical computing using R, Python or C/C++
