The UM-Dearborn Office of Digital Education is seeking a Project Coordinator (Video Production Assistant) for a one year term limited position through May 2022. The Video Production Assistant will work with faculty members to create high-quality ADA-compliant instructional videos. This position is considered essential and will require work to be done on the Dearborn campus even during the COVID-19 related closure. This position will be a 40 hour full-time hourly position paying $15/hr and is benefits eligible. This position is considered to be non-exempt under FLSA.
Working with faculty to record videos in one of the Digital Education recording rooms, faculty offices, or at other locations.
Manage video editing (title/credit screens, cutting, trimming, greenscreen work) with Camtasia Studio or Adobe Premiere.
Running and maintaining Lightboards used in the Digital Education recording rooms.
Assist with closed-captioning as required for accessibility accommodations.
Creating help guides for faculty who record/edit videos on their own.
Present workshops for faculty on various audio/video recording and editing topics.
Provide faculty quick orientation sessions on using recording equipment and other tech tools.
Provide excellent customer service as an individual and as part of a team.
Follow confidentiality guidelines and FERPA requirements when handling private and personal information.
Additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts (or similar).
Experience with video recording and editing software (personal work is acceptable).
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent time-management skills.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with editing closed-captions for ADA-compliant accuracy.
