The Garmire Lab is seeking a motivated and talented postdoc fellow with genoics science/molecular epidemiology background to establish the wet lab. The candidate is expected to follow and optimize protocols for single cell and single nuclei extraction from human samples, and conduct single cell library preparation with the in-house 10x genomics instrumentation. He/she will help prepare tissue samples and conduct spatial transcriptomics assays. He/she is experienced with molecular and cell biology experimental techniques, such as DNA/RNA/Protein extraction, PCR, western-blots, cell culture experiments, knock-down and transfection assays and immunostaining procedures. This fellow will need to have rigorous training in ensuring quality controls related to human population studies, having experience with developing standard of protocols (SOP), keep accurate and detailed experimental procedures, and good at troubleshooting. He/she is expected to have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and frequently collaborate with computational biologists in the Garmire group, and external teams that provide sample resources. This fellow is expected to publish leading author publications in high quaility journals and help PI to prepare grants and publications.

- PhD degree in biological science, genomics science or molecular epidemiology background
- Must have at least 2 first-author publications in high quality journals
- Ability to analyze the data in collaboration and draw scientific conclusions
- Highly motivated and self-driven
- Excellent communication skills, experienced at collaborating with others with different domain expertise (such as bioinformatics)
- Programming background is not required but will be a bonus
