The University of Michigan-Dearborn Office of Student Life is seeking personable, hard working students who are proactive critical thinkers with their work to serve in the position of Student Organization Consultant. As a paraprofessional member of the Student Life team, Student Organization Consultants will serve as the main point of contact for all student organization related questions. This will be achieved through the development of workshops, policies, and the day to day operations of student organizations. The role will provide Student Organization Consultants the opportunity to learn new skills and enhance existing ones while supporting the professional staff to enhance and develop the university’s student life.

Develop and lead workshops for student organization leaders
Review and update Office of Student Life policies that pertain to student organizations
Assist students with the creation of new student organizations
Create and send informational and marketing materials to student org leaders (Newsletter, flyers, policies, etc..)
Maintain student organization records (budgets, policies, registration, etc.)
Serve as the main point of contact for student organization related questions
Other tasks as assigned
Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
Critical Thinking, Teamwork & Communication Skills
Be comfortable working and learning with new technologies

What You'll Do
Meet with student organizations and help them with any problems that arise.
Develop and lead Workshops and trainings for organizations.
Answer questions students may have regarding Victorslink, their organization, their organization’s account, or anything else that comes up.
Assist in oversight of the student organization programming budget and keep records up to date.
Help organizations plan fundraising events and ensure they remain in good standing.
Advise and meet with students who want to make a new student organization and help them through the process.
Manage the lockers and cubicles in the Student Organization Center.
Update and manage Victorslink.
Approve Event Requests and book Bake Sales for student organizations.
Meet with SOAC regularly.
Meet with other Student Organization Consultants and supervisor weekly.
Help other office areas if they require assistance.
Create and send Newsletter to student org leaders.
Review and update Office of Student Life policies that pertain to student organizations.
Oversee organizations through the yearly re-registration process.
