The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician Associate in a lab that studies circadian clocks, sleep and metabolism using Drosophila as a model system.

Responsibilities*

The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis including Drosophila handling, fluorescence microscopy, live imaging, imaging analysis. Additional responsibilities include recording and analyzing data under the guidance of the PI or a graduate student or a postdoctoral fellow and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 year of matching lab research experience in Biology or a related science field is required.

Applicant should be highly motivated with thorough, methodological and accurate work habits, and must be able to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to multi-task and has strong communication skills.

Desired Qualifications*

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a related science degree is preferred. 

Experience in Drosophila handling and Drosophila genetics and confocal microscopy is highly desired.

Background Screening
